My Daily Green Smoothie and Water Consumption Formula


I never new how much my body would change for the better from drinking plenty of water.
I also never new that my entire life would change from drinking green Smoothies.

A few months before I came across the amazing green smoothie and was simply drinking fresh veggie juices every so often, I met a guy that taught me an awesome formula for drinking water.

This guy read my blood and showed me how my cells were dehydrated and that I needed more water.

This is his formula and it has helped me emensely.

He said that we can improve our health simply by drinking one half of our body weight in ounces of water during the first 4 hours afer getting out of bed.

My First Green Smoothie Video and An Amazing Recipe Of The Day!



It's been a couple days since my last Green Smoothie Blog so I think I'll put up something new.
I'm learning as I go along here so not only is this a blog on my favorite drink, the amazing green smoothie but also a look at my computer and business skills learning curve first hand.

Just a few minutes ago I learned how to ad a You Tube video to my blog, very exciting. Take a look at it and you can see just how my morning green smoothie blend comes together and what my beautiful drinks come out like every morning.

The video is from a couple days ago and is a great recipe for you to try.

Today though, my smoothie was exceptional and I wrote down exactly what I put in it so you can have a go at it. You will love it. It is so packed with great nutrients and super foods that you won't know what to do with all of your energy. I got a ton of things done today and I know my energy, clarity and focus and ability to have fun throughout the day came from my delicious green smoothie for breakfast.

Here is a fabulous recipe (exactly as I made it this morning):

16 ounces of water to start
4 ounces of tangerine juice (I just cut 2 of them in half, squeezed them by hand and picked out the seeds)
2 Bananas
1 Juicy Pear
1 whole Avocado
1 whole bunch Green Chard
2 Tablespoon Goji Berries
1 Tablespoon Bee Pollen
2 Tablespoon whole Flax Seeds

This one makes a lot of smoothie and I share them with my wife each morning so you can cut down on the ingredients if it is just for you. You can cut everything in half and it would be a good amount for one person to drink in a day.

This is really an advanced smoothie with the few super foods added in at the end. I was looking for a smoothie with substance today as I knew I had some physical work to do.

You could leave out the Gojis, Bee Pollen and flax and still have a great smoothie.

Here is a picture of today's green smoothie blend. It was a thick one but very tasty. Sometimes I get so excited about how I feel drinking these green smoothies that I just keep adding more greens.

Here is what is in it:


Two ripe Bananas

One juicy ripe pear

A small carton of blueberries

One Meyer lemon (just the yellow part of the skin off leaving the white)

One whole avocado with the pit (no skin, I haven't tried that yet)

1/2 a head of green leaf lettuce

1/2 a head of romaine lettuce

20 ounces of crystal clear water (since I am sharing)


This is a great hearty green smoothie today with the avocado pit. If you read my blog or my site at http://www.thegreensmoothie.com/ or watch my You Tube Videos, you will know about the fruit seeds and pits I blend and why. There are many wonderful nutrients and valuable fiber in them.


Plus, the 3 horse power blender I use turns them to liquid in seconds.
OK, some of you may know through My Space that I have had challenges with depression and I have chosen to use medications in the past to deal with it.

For 15 years or more I have been juicing fresh fruits and veggies and just about 4 months ago came across the amazing healing powers of the green smoothie. The difference being that fresh juice is just the juice. A fresh green smoothie contains all the fiber, seeds and sometime skins in a much healthier balance than the plain juice.

Don't get me wrong, juicing is great and will do wonders for your health, but in my experience the whole fruit and leafy greens green smoothies are far more balanced and have allowed for really amazing changes in my mental, emotional and physical health.

I have been drinking these smoothies now every day for 4 months and the changes have been amazing. You can read about them at the bottom of the page in this link.

Now the coolest part about all the changes that I have been going through by drinking these smoothies is the change in my emotional health. I have been so calm, and almost totally non reactionary in stressful situations, the times I've been down or depressed lately have been very mild and easy to shift out of and I have been way more relaxed than usual about everything.
For me, all of that is wonderful.

Now on the medications I've taken in the past, I felt very much the same as I've been feeling drinking the smoothies but the meds caused me to feel very numb and unemotional and my brain function was just dull to say the least. With the meds, I would be in a conversation and just couldn't really think of anything to say. Now on the smoothies, I have real clarity of thought and focus and the ability to stay calm and happy most of the time. It's way better than being on the chemical meds.

I'm not a scientist or doctor or even professionally trained at any of this but what I think is happening is that my body is basically getting really pure, unprocessed, green and vital nutrition and it is naturally coming into its natural healthy balance. All I know is that all kinds of things are changing inside of me and I feel tons more energy, I look and feel younger, my skin is so smooth and all kinds of other aches and pains are going away. All by simply drinking some fresh fruits and leafy greens each day. Not a bad deal!

The other part I'll mention here is that by blending the fruit and greens up, I don't have to spend the time and energy chewing and digesting which allows my body the extra energy to heal and balance the parts that need it. Its just amazing! Can you get my enthusiasm cause it is real.

My Daily Green Smoothie Blend


















Hello Green Smoothie Drinkers

and Beginners


Today I have a couple of pictures of my simple yet tasty Green Smoothie blend that I enjoyed just this beautiful morning. They are after and before pictures since I had a challenge uploading my pictures this morning in the format I wanted.

The picture on the right is what my green smoothie consisted of this morning minus the blueberries. I decided to use them tomorrow and keep today's blend real simple. Here is what you see:

3 Bananas
1 full basket of Strawberries (Tops included, the more greens the better!)
1 whole head of Romaine Lettuce
20 ounces of water (Since I am sharing this with my wife)

That's it. I think it takes my super power Blend Tec blender about 2o seconds to blend it all up.
Then you can see the results in the left picture which ends up being about 50 ounces of a yummy smooth and nutritious green smoothie that will give you more greens than most people get in a week.

I get the big glass about 35 ounces and my wife the smaller which is about 15 ounces. We both really love them and feel so good drinking them every day.

My Green Smoothie Blend Of The Day




Hello there Green Smoothie Revolutionaries!


Its a great day with the sun shining, plenty of projects to work on and all the energy I need to stay focused after a really tasty green smoothie to start the day.


When I was really into fresh veggie juicing and lived in Boulder Colorado some years ago, I would love starting my day at the juice bar of Alfalfa's Market. I would drink something like a kale, celery, apple, lemon combo juice and sit around with a bunch of other juicers and have all kinds of high energy conversations about health and vitality.


It's a great energy if you haven't experienced it. For some reason the fresh green juice causes an amazing sensation and mental stimulation that can cause a whirlwind of good energy in the mind and body.


Now that I have been doing only green smoothies I am finding the same bursts of energy that is even better and sustained throughout my green smoothie days. I do my best to have someone to share my smoothies with each morning for the good feelings and great conversations that come out of giving my mind and body some of the best nutrients available in a very simple drink.


Today my particular smoothie blend turned out great!


Here is what I blended:


Three perfectly ripe pears


One medium sized lime (with the outer peel removed and the white part left)


One whole avocado


a nice medium size bunch of red chard


16 ounces of water


That's it, and it came out perfectly tasty and smooth.


There is a good amount of sodium in the chard that mixes really nicely with the tang of the lime and the sweet pears to make a delicious brownish green smoothie. I know the brown doesn't sound too appealing but boy was it delicious!

I do use the avocado pits sometime but today I wasn't in the mood. You may think that is a little crazy but there is a new wave of smoothie blending going on that uses these amazingly powerful blenders that can turn an avocado pit into mush in about 5 seconds. And the nutrient content is the best part.

The Green Smoothie ~VS~ Toxic Medications


Here is why I think the amazing green smoothie can be an awesome substitute for taking chemical medications that cost tons of money.

Yes, I've taken meds for depression and they have helped. I now drink a green smoothie a day and I feel far better than any meds ever helped me feel and I know that it is because my body is getting proper and vital nutrients from the leafy greens I drink.

Since I have been drinking green smoothies my head has been clear and my moods have been calm and hopeful. When I was on drugs my head was numb and my moods were flat and I was unable to cry and feel much as a healthy expression of transformation.

I am amazed each day that I have had such profound emotional, physical and mental changes from simply adding a green smoothie to my diet every day or so.

You don't have to go and figure out what potions, pills or powders to ingest cause all you do is get out your blender, put in some of your favorite fruits, leafy greens and water and you have a drink that will have you feeling better than you could imagine. That is why I call them the Amazing Green Smoothies.

So, do something very good for yourself and make one, drink it down and get in a habit of doing it everyday. You will be transformed. Let your body heal itself with the proper real nutrients that it craves. You will then find yourself free of the expensive toxic drugs that screw your body and mind up for the long term.

It is important that you learn to be responsible for your own health. Your doctors will sell you what makes them the most money because they are desperate and generally greedy.

Imagine drinking a green smoothie a day and having your health challenges fade away simply because you have chosen to care for yourself in ways that a doctor pushing drugs never will.

Green Smoothie Leftover Day!


Hello Green Smoothie Makers,

Today is one of those days that I was all excited about getting over to the farmers market to get some fresh greens to make my green smoothie. The morning ended up getting away from me starting with a 7:15am conference call on blogging which certainly inspired me to write this entry today.

So the farmers market will have to wait until Wednesday and I'll just have to use up some of the awesome greens and fruits I already have in the fridge this morning to make my green smoothie.

I'll call it the Left over Green Smoothie!

I always seem to end up with a few leafs of kale here or a partial bunch of spinach there that sits in my fridge for a day or two. You know the little bits of greens that I couldn't fit in my blender yesterday or the day before. I can usually fit a whole head of lettuce or bunch of spinach into my super power 3 horse power blender but sometimes there is just a little left.

Today my leftover ingredients were as follows:


About one quarter of a head of Napa Cabbage

Three leaves of dark green Dino Kale

Three small bunches of Spinach

One crisp Pink Lady apple

One big old banana

Because of the power of my monster blender I don't peel, or seed any of the fruit I use so the apple seeds and skin get blended right up with the rest of it. The nutrient value of skins and seeds is something I don't want to miss. I haven't used banana peel yet cause it is just too darn bitter and I like a tasty smoothie.

All these left over goodies blended with 12 ounces of clean clear H20 made for a delicious green smoothie that will give me all kinds of mental clarity and energy for the day I have ahead of me.

On The Road with The Green Smoothie And My Super Power Blender!

















Today was one of those days where I had a bunch of fun stuff to do like go to the gym at the crack of dawn, take a quick trip by the farmers market to gather some freshly picked leafy greens for my green smoothie of the day, take a trip up the highway to help a friend get started packing for a move and then back home for an appointment and now here in fron of my computer to write you this story.

It's one of those days that having green smoothies in my life really makes a difference. It is also very nice to be able to stop at just about any market, produce stand or farmers market and pick up my green smoothie ingredients for a vitamin rich quick drink that I can make on the go.

I have a really easily portable blender that I carry with me and all I need is a plug, my fruits and greens and a glass and I am free to blend wherever I am.

I use this Blend Tec blender because it is the most powerful blender on the market and I like to blend up things like avocado pits for their high soluable fiber value. This blender turns the pit into the smoothest drink immaginable and I love it!

So I'm out there on the road after a work out, I haven't had a bite to eat cause I like to start my days out with a bunch of fresh clear water, and now I'm beginning to feel the need for some nutrition.

I've got my blender with me and a bag of blueberries, bananas and an apple so when I get to my friends house I just blend up a green smoothie. It's as simple as that.

That is what I love. It is so darn easy!

So as you can tell, I'm pretty hot on these Green Smoothies. I've had such awesome results from drinking them that I feel like I want to tell the world as much as I can about them. So I've created a site at www.TheGreenSmoothie.com

Today I just want to say something about all the sugar I see people feeding there kids and how it frustrates me. I grew up devouring sugar any chance I could get, feeling crappy, not being able to keep focussed in school, or stay awake for that matter, and finding it very hard to stop eating sugar later on in life.

I want to encourage parents to not fall prey to the mass media marketing blitz to get your kids to eat as much sugar as they can and find some strength inside to create the will power to find a healthy alternative. You will only better your life and the lives of your children if you can find it in your power to do so.

Processed sugar will slow you and your kids down in the long run, totally screw up their systems, making them crazy and hyper one minute and lethargic the next and all for what, just for a moment of fleeting pleasure or to appease a screaming brat that is already addicted to the stuff.
Do yourself a favor, learn about Green Smoothies, start drinking them, let you and your kids addicted systems heal naturally and watch your life come into ballance. It's really not that difficult.

Ode to the Green Smoothie

As the Russian proverb says: New- is something old, that has been long forgotten. This summer I re-discovered green smoothies.

What do I mean by green smoothie? Here is one of my favorite recipes: 4 ripe pears, 1 bunch of parsley and 1 big cup of water. Blended well. This smoothie looks very green, but it tastes like fruit.

I like green smoothies so much that I bought an extra blender and placed it in my office, so that I could make green smoothies throughout the day. More than half of all the food I've had in last several months have been green smoothies.

I have so much more energy and clarity that I have removed green juices from my diet. (Juicing has been something that I've been doing regularly for years.) Green smoothies have numerous benefits for human health.


1. Green smoothies are very nutritious. I believe that the ratio in them is optimal for human consumption: about 60% - ripe organic fruit mixed with about 40% - organic green vegetables.


2. Green smoothies are easy to digest. When blended well, all the valuable nutrients in these fruits and veggies become homogenized, or divided into such small particles that it becomes easy for the body to assimilate these nutrients; the green smoothies literally start to get absorbed in your mouth.


3. Green smoothies, as a posed to juices, are a complete food because they still have fiber.


4. Green smoothies belong to the most palatable dishes for all humans of all ages. With a ratio of fruits to veggies as 60:40 the fruit taste dominates the flavor, yet at the same time the green vegetables balance out the sweetness of the fruit, adding nice zest to it.

Green smoothies are simply the best tasting dishes for the majority of adults and children. I always make extra smoothie and offer it to my friends and customers. Some of them eat a standard American diet. They all finished their big cup of green smoothies with complements. They were quite surprised that something so green could taste so nice and sweet.


5. By consuming two or three cups of green smoothies daily you will consume enough of greens for the day to nourish your body, and they will be well assimilated. Many people do not consume enough of greens, even those who stay on a raw food diet. The molecule of chlorophyll has only one atom that makes it different from a molecule of human blood. According to teachings of Dr. Ann Wigmore, to consume chlorophyll is like receiving a healthy blood transfusion.


6. Green smoothies are easy to make, and quick to clean up after. Many people told me that they do not consume green juices on a regular basis because it is time consuming to prepare green juices and clean the equipment after juicing, or to drive to the juice bar.


7. Green smoothies are perfect food for children of all ages, including babies of six or more months old when introducing new food to them after mother's milk. Of course you have to be careful and slowly increase the amount of smoothies to avoid food allergies.


8. When you consume your greens in the form of green smoothies, you can greatly reduce the consumption of oils and salt in your diet.


9. Regular consumption of Green smoothies forms a good habit of eating greens. Several people told me that after a couple of weeks of drinking green smoothies, they started to crave and enjoy eating more greens. Eating enough of green vegetable is often a problem with many people, especially in children.
